Position Title: Y-Ball Site Coordinator

General Function
The Y-Ball Site Coordinator supports the onsite operations of the Youth Basketball and Men’s League programs. This position is responsible for helping ensure that all game days run safely, efficiently, and in alignment with YMCA values.
The Site Coordinator assists in maintaining a fun, positive, and well-supervised environment while supporting officials, participants, and families.
Responsibilities
- Be present at all Youth Basketball and Men’s League games.
- Support onsite league operations, including setup, supervision, and breakdown.
- Promote and model the YMCA’s core values of Honesty, Responsibility, Respect, and Caring.
- Communicate effectively with parents, participants, referees, and staff to maintain a positive and organized environment.
- Identify and report any safety or behavioral concerns immediately to the Y-Ball Coordinator or Sports Director.
- Track and document any incidents or facility issues during game days.
- Ensure all necessary equipment is properly set up, in working order, and returned after use.
- Assist with parent days, special events, or other department initiatives as assigned.
- Support general communication and follow-up with families as directed.
- Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers.
- Attend required abuse risk management training.
- Adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising consumers.
- Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
- Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.
Qualifications
- Experience or strong interest in youth sports as a player, coach, official, or administrator.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of individuals, including staff, parents, and volunteers.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and proactive in high-traffic environments.
- Commitment to promoting a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, sit, talk, and crouch. Vision must allow for monitoring active play areas. This position may occasionally involve exposure to moderate or high noise levels typical of gym environments.
Reporting Structure
The Y-Ball Site Coordinator reports directly to the Sports Director and works in collaboration with the Y-Ball Coordinator to ensure program success.
