What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Assistant position at New Brunswick Counseling Center?
New Brunswick Counseling Center (NBCC) is a CARF-accredited, nonprofit provider of outpatient mental health and substance use treatment services. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Part-Time HR Assistant to support our Human Resources department.
Schedule: 15-20 hours per week (on-site)
Location: New Brunswick, NJ
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with onboarding and new hire paperwork
- Maintain employee records and HR files
- Support recruitment activities, including scheduling interviews
- Track employee trainings, certifications, and compliance requirements
- Assist with payroll and benefits administration tasks
- Prepare HR correspondence, reports, and employee communications
- Provide general administrative support to the HR Manager
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in human resources, labor relations, organizational development, business, or a related area; relevant work experience may be a substitute
- Previous administrative or HR experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer systems
- Strong organizational, communication, and confidentiality skills
- Experience with BambooHR or HRIS systems is a plus
