EMT Position Profile:
Basic Function:
- Administer pre-hospital emergency care and other forms of related health care and education. Transport patients in emergency and non-emergency situations as required. Work as a member of an emergency medical team.
Experience:
- This is an entry-level position.
- One [1] year of related experience preferred for appointment to employment.
Education:
- High school diploma; and post-secondary vocational training.
Certifications/Licenses:
- Current AHA BCLS Healthcare provider.
- Current Connecticut and National Registry (preferred) certification as an EMT or AEMT.
- Current Connecticut Medical Command Authorization for semi automatic defibrillation and
- Epi-Pen utilization desirable.
- Valid driver’s license.
- IS 100;200;700 and 800 certification desirable
Core Knowledge/Attributes:
- Desire to excel as a pre-hospital care provider in a busy urban EMS System.
- Ability to be self-motivated and accountable.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks in a timely manner.
- Ability to foster the concept of team work in order to accomplish goals.
- Excellent customer service skills
