New Braunfels Downtown Association Program Coordinator
Location: Texas
Position Type: Part-Time Independent Contractor (Approx. 40 hours per month)
Compensation: $30-35/hour, based on experience
The New Braunfels Downtown Association (DTA) is seeking a highly organized, proactive Program Coordinator to support and strengthen engagement with downtown businesses while keeping the Association’s operations running smoothly. This role combines community connection with hands-on coordination—helping downtown businesses thrive, supporting events, and ensuring day-to-day organization.
The Program Coordinator is a key point of contact for local partners, a collaborator on events and promotions, and an essential organizer behind the scenes.
Key Responsibilities
Business Engagement & Community Support
- Build and maintain strong relationships with downtown businesses and stakeholders
- Recruit and onboard new DTA partners while encouraging participation in DTA events and initiatives
- Foster collaboration among businesses to support a vibrant, connected downtown
Event Coordination & Promotion
- Plan and manage DTA-hosted events, including volunteer coordination, vendors, supplies, and logistics
- Collaborate with marketing partners to promote events and highlight downtown businesses through newsletters, social media, and other communications
- Support initiatives that increase visibility, engagement, and foot traffic in the downtown district
Administrative & Organizational Management
- Prepare Board meeting materials, updates, and related communications
- Maintain organized internal records, emails, spreadsheets, and partner databases
- Track RSVPs, maintain event documentation, and manage operational timelines
- Assist with basic financial tracking and reporting in coordination with the Board Treasurer
Qualifications
- Experience in community engagement, business outreach, nonprofit coordination, or similar roles
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Comfortable with email platforms, spreadsheets, social media, and event tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Eventbrite, Square)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Self-directed, proactive, and energized by supporting local businesses and community initiatives
Some evening and weekend availability is required to support events and meetings.
