The Quabbin Regional School District is seeking a compassionate, creative, and dedicated teacher to lead an alternative high school program, located in New Braintree, serving high school students in a non-traditional setting. This role is designed for an educator who is passionate about meeting students where they are—academically, socially, and emotionally—and who thrives in a flexible, student-centered environment. The ideal candidate will implement instructional strategies that support individual learning styles and promote academic success, personal growth, and social-emotional development. Key Responsibilities: •Provide differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students in an alternative education setting. •Using an online platform, design and implement academic plans for individual students that aligned with state standards •Create a supportive, trauma-informed classroom environment that promotes respect, accountability, and student engagement. •Collaborate with counselors, social workers, special education staff, and families to develop student support plans. •Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and behavior. •Implement classroom management strategies focused on restorative practices and positive behavior interventions. •Facilitate life skills, career readiness, and/or social-emotional learning curricula as part of the program. •Support credit recovery, individualized learning, and flexible pacing to help students stay on track for graduation. •Participate in team meetings, parent conferences, professional development, and school-wide initiatives. Qualifications: •Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field (Master’s preferred). •Valid teaching certification (Special Education or Secondary Education preferred). •Experience working with at-risk youth, students with behavioral/emotional needs, or in alternative education settings. •Strong classroom management skills and ability to build meaningful relationships with students. •Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and culturally responsive teaching. •Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
