What are the responsibilities and job description for the Case Manager position at New Bethany, Inc.?
SUMMARY:
The Case Manager will assist clients by helping individuals access the resources, support, and services they need to improve their well-being and stability in regard to housing, employment, food access and health needs.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Case Manager will:
- Provide one-one case management services, including but not limited to assist clients with housing and employment searches as needed
- Manage referrals and conduct intakes with tenants, and landlords to provide aid where needed
- Process applications for housing assistance in their entirety
- Assist tenants’ development of rental arrears repayment plans
- Develop and implement a landlord engagement plan
- When necessary, educate clients regarding tenant/landlord rights and responsibilities, the eviction process, and the housing court system
- Refer tenants to financial counseling services and legal services as needed
- Ensure files, notes, and documents are timely and accurately maintained in all systems, including HMIS, New Org and client files
- Attend and successfully complete required training (COC written standard due within 60 days of hire)
· Perform other duties as assigned by his/her Supervisor
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Case Manager has no supervisory responsibilities.
COMPETENCIES:
The candidate must have proficiency in all of the following:
· Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, psychology, public health, or a related field.
· At least two year’s related experience in a non-profit setting or equivalent.
· Knowledge of basic financial literacy.
· Excellent organizational, writing, communication, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to manage challenging situations and crises, work independently and collaboratively.
· Demonstrated ability to provide one-on-one case management or coaching.
· Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
· Employee must be 18 years or older.
· Employee may not have an Indicated or Founded Child Abuse Offense.
