Bakery assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Bakery Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support the daily operations of our bakery, assisting with food preparation, production, and customer service. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and a keen eye for detail, ensuring that all products meet our high standards of quality and presentation.

Duties

• Assist in the preparation and production of baked goods, including breads, pastries, and cakes.
• Decorate cakes and pastries with creativity and precision to enhance visual appeal.
• Package finished products for sale while maintaining proper food safety standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to food safety regulations at all times.
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with their orders and inquiries.
• Collaborate with the bakery team to ensure efficient workflow and timely production of items.
• Help with inventory management by tracking supplies and reporting shortages as needed.
• Participate in catering events as required, contributing to menu planning and execution.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a bakery or food production environment is preferred.
• Strong baking skills with knowledge of various baking techniques and recipes.
• Experience in cake decorating is a plus, along with good knife skills.
• Familiarity with food handling practices and food safety regulations is essential.
• Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with customers.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Culinary experience or formal training in baking/pastry arts is advantageous but not required.
• A passion for the food industry and a willingness to learn new techniques is highly valued.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
