Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Aide to join our dynamic educational team. Duties
- Assist teachers in implementing curriculum plans across subjects such as literacy, math, and social skills, ensuring lessons are engaging and accessible for students with disabilities
- Support students with classroom activities, including physical assistance and behavioral management tailored to individual needs
- Collaborate with educators and specialists to develop and execute individualized education plans (IEPs) that align with federal and state educational standards like the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)
- Use effective communication skills, including American Sign Language when appropriate, to facilitate interaction with students who have communication challenges
- Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement strategies and behavior management techniques for students with behavioral disorders or autism spectrum disorders
- Support early childhood education principles by assisting in toddler care, preschool activities, or Montessori-based learning environments
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive student information while documenting progress, incidents, and support strategies accurately
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children or students with disabilities in classroom or childcare settings
- Knowledge of special education practices, including behavior management for students with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders
- Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, and literacy education techniques
- Ability to provide physical assistance for students requiring mobility or daily living support
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with teachers, therapists, parents, and other professionals
- Experience working within private school environments or early childhood education settings preferred
- Basic math skills and understanding of childhood development principles necessary for supporting academic activities
