Duties
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing clinical terminology and standardized tools such as ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding systems.
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions employing evidence-based practices like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and behavioral health interventions.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans aligned with clinical documentation standards while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality policies.
- Engage in crisis management and crisis intervention to support patients experiencing acute mental health episodes or trauma, including PTSD care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, case management, and discharge planning across hospital, community care, and home settings.
- Maintain accurate medical records using EMR/EHR systems, documenting patient interactions, progress notes, and treatment outcomes per medical documentation standards.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives related to mental health interventions, addiction counseling, autism spectrum disorders, or developmental disabilities to advance evidence-based practice.
Skills
- Extensive experience in psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and mental health counseling.
- Proficiency in conducting mental health assessments, diagnostic evaluations (ICD coding), and psychiatric patient care within diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Strong knowledge of crisis intervention techniques, trauma-informed care including PTSD management, and addiction counseling strategies.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for efficient documentation of clinical encounters while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Ability to work effectively with children, adolescents, geriatrics, individuals with autism or disabilities, including special education needs.
- Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders or developmental disabilities in hospital or community settings.
- Excellent communication skills for client engagement, social work case management, and collaboration with healthcare teams.
