Overview:
We are seeking a Direct Support Professional to join our team! You will assist in the daily care of individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with daily living activities
- Respect clients right and confidentiality. Be a role model, promote teamwork and help to make a positive work and living environment.
- Read, know and implement Individuals Service Plan, documenting daily as required
- Remain alert to individual's behaviors/physical changes and notify immediate supervisor.
- Assist with and work to strengthen the individuals many daily living needs, including but not limited to: Nutrition, hygiene, exercise, communication, daily outings in community and socialization skills.
- Help individuals as needed to bathe, groom, dress, participate in family style dining and other daily living skills, always working to improve self-reliance.
- Assist the individuals in maintaining a clean, healthy, comfortable and safe home environment.
- Collaborate with clients and families for best care opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in personal care or other related fields is preferred
- You must have a positive attitude and the desire and passion to work with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Ability to build rapport with clients
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Have the ability to work well with others and be a team!
- High School diploma and/or GED
- Must be 18 years or older
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record, less than 6 points
- Clean background check BCI/FBI according to Federal, State and Local Law, as well as clear additional registries the State of Ohio requires to be checked.
Must currently be active or be willing to earn a certificate in the following: All paid for by the company
- Adult CPR/First Aide/AED Training
- Medication Administration Certification 1
- Direct Support Professionals Annual training through the Ohio DODD
- A total of 8 hours of qualified training as determined by the employer

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
