New Beginnings for Life is looking for a Residential Assistant to provide direct care for a high functioning and independent individual with an intellectual disability in a group home setting.
Qualified candidates must be flexible and energetic and must be able to multitask efficiently.
Qualified candidates must have experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and behavioral needs and must have experience tracking program and behavior data.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (not limited to):
- Provide supervision and implement program and behavior plans to adults with a wide range of mental, physical, and intellectual disabilities.
- Provide transportation for participants using your personal vehicle.
- Provide services in accordance to the individualized goals of the participant.
- Ensure the health, safety, and well being of participants in accordance with their individual service plans.
- Maintain DDS mandated trainings including CPR/First Aid, PMT, Abuse & Neglect, HIPAA, etc.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Knowledge of individualized planning for people with differing abilities
- Experience writing case notes and tracking program and behavior data
- Ability to memorize medical, behavioral, and programming guidelines for multiple individuals and implement them effectively
- Ability to come in early/leave late or occasionally work weekends to fit the needs of the program
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have a current driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Current CPR/First Aid and PMT Certifications (preferred)
- Ability to pass criminal history background check, DMV record check, Abuse & Neglect Registry Check, and Sex Offender Registry Check
