As a Floater Teacher at New Beginnings Early Learning Center, you'll bring consistency, warmth, and quality to every classroom - from infants to preschoolers - while building relationships across our entire program. You'll grow your skills across age groups, deepen your knowledge of Connecticut's early learning standards, and become one of the most versatile educators on our team.

Duties

Adaptable Classroom Support

  • Provide coverage across infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms as needed
  • Adapt teaching style and approach to match each age group's developmental needs
  • Maintain consistency with established classroom routines, schedules, and management systems
  • Support CT ELDS implementation across all age groups

Age-Appropriate Care and Education

Infant (Birth-18 months)

  • Support individual feeding and sleeping schedules following safe sleep practices
  • Provide nurturing physical and emotional care
  • Implement appropriate sensory and developmental activities

Toddler (18-36 months)

  • Support toilet training, emerging independence, and early language development
  • Guide positive peer interactions and physical development through active play

Preschool (3-5 years)

  • Support structured learning activities and small and large group instruction
  • Foster social skill development, problem-solving, and emerging academic skills

Health and Safety

  • Follow age-appropriate health, safety, and sanitization protocols for each classroom
  • Implement proper diapering, toileting, handwashing, and meal procedures
  • Maintain safe sleep practices for infants and monitor indoor and outdoor environments

Communication and Documentation

  • Communicate effectively with all teaching teams and maintain confidentiality
  • Support DOTS documentation, attendance records, and daily family communication
  • Document accidents or incidents as required

Professional Responsibilities

  • Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities
  • Build positive relationships across all classrooms and support program quality efforts

Requirements

Qualifications

Candidates must meet one of the following credential pathways:

  • Current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential issued by the Council for Professional Recognition
  • CDA equivalent as defined by NAEYC
  • - at least 12 college credits in early childhood education, child development, elementary education, or early childhood special education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • - must earn a CDA or enroll in an accredited ECE degree program within the first year of employment

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Strong understanding of child development across all age groups birth to five
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification
  • Ability to adapt quickly and collaborate effectively across multiple classroom teams

Requirements

  • Must successfully clear a full background check
  • Must pass required health screening



Salary : $16.35 to $17.50/Hr
