Role Description
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Professional Counselor for an on-site contract role located in Montgomery, AL. The counselor will provide individual, couple, and family therapy tailored to clients’ unique needs. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing mental health needs, developing treatment plans, conducting therapy sessions, and maintaining accurate client records. The professional will work collaboratively with clients to encourage their journey toward improved mental health and well-being.
Qualifications
- A valid state license to practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or equivalent credential
- Proficiency in trauma-informed therapy, addressing issues such as depression, anxiety, and relationship challenges
- Strong active listening, empathy, and communication skills
- Experience in providing individual, couple, and family therapy
- Excellent documentation and record-keeping abilities
- Familiarity with or the ability to provide culturally sensitive therapeutic approaches, particularly for Black communities
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively within a professional counseling environment
