Role Description
This is an on-site contract position, located in Montgomery, AL, for a Licensed Professional Counselor. The counselor will work closely with clients to provide individual, couples, or family counseling using evidence-based therapeutic approaches. Day-to-day tasks include assessing client needs, developing treatment plans, conducting therapy sessions, maintaining client records, and supporting clients in their journey toward improved mental health and well-being. Providing culturally sensitive care and fostering a safe, welcoming environment for clients is an essential aspect of the role.
Qualifications
- Strong clinical skills in counseling, including experience with trauma-informed therapy, addressing depression, anxiety, and relationship issues
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations
- Proficiency in treatment planning, client assessment, and record-keeping
- Commitment to promoting cultural sensitivity and understanding in therapeutic practice
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
- Active and unrestricted license as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Alabama
- Previous experience counseling individuals, couples, or families is preferred
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with team members
