Job Summary
We are hiring for a Part-time (10-12 hours / week) Housing and Community Resources Coach. The role is a case manager role and works in New Beginning’s permanent supportive housing program to help residents maintain stable housing and improve their health and quality of life.
Key responsibilities include conducting individualized needs assessments, developing housing stability and services plans, and providing ongoing support to provide tenancy coaching to connect residents with essential community resources. The coach focuses on fostering independence and self-sufficiency, addressing barriers to stability, and advocating for residents' rights and access to services. This includes performing regular home visits, monitoring progress toward goals, and ensuring compliance with program guidelines.
The position requires strong interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of community resources, and a commitment to helping vulnerable populations succeed in a stable housing environment.

Housing Focused Case Management in Permanent Supportive Housing Program
- Assist with program enrollment, housing searches, lease up, and move-in with new program participants.
- Develop and maintain relationships of trust while maintaining professional boundaries with each program participant.
- Engage each program participant collaboratively to develop housing stability goals and individualized service plans to support their stability and thriving in housing.
- Examples of support services include tenancy problem-solving, independent living skill-building, conflict resolution with neighbors, connection to public benefits such as health insurance and SNAP benefits, employment support, money management coaching, and connections to community based health, mental health, and substance use disorder support services.
- Act as a liaison with landlords and other community stakeholders to promote the success of residents and the program.
- Collaborate with the rest of the New Beginnings support team to effectively coordinate support services in line with each program participant’s housing stability plan.
- Collaborate and advocate with other service providers in the community to ensure that residents are receiving high-quality, effective services to meet their needs.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation, including client files and entries into the HMIS and other software databases. Ensure the security of files and records.
- Model appropriate boundaries.
- Participate in the client grievance process.
Community Engagement & Resources
- Develop and maintain knowledge of up-to-date housing support resources in the community and low-income housing options and application processes throughout NWA.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of up-to-date support services related to health, mental health, substance use support, food pantry, transportation, legal system, employment,
- Participate in coordinated case management with partners when appropriate.
Operational Responsibilities
- Perform de-escalation interventions and implement suspensions when appropriate in the bridge housing community program.
- Complete and follow-up with safety violations and incident reports in the bridge housing community.
- Assist with developing and facilitating onsite workshops and support groups to promote community functioning.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures outlined in the New Beginnings Program Manual and Employee Handbook.
- Participate in organizational meetings, training, and community-based events.
- Assume other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Knowledge
- Four-year degree in social work or a related field from an accredited college or university or have equivalent specialized work experience in the human services sector.
- Superior interpersonal skills and communication skills (written and oral).
- Ability to thrive in a diverse, collaborative team environment.
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and ability to learn new software systems.
- Valid Arkansas State Driver’s License.
Preferred Skills/Knowledge
- Licensed Social Worker by state of Arkansas
- Experience working with people experiencing homelessness and/or people with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
- Familiarity with or ability to learn and apply motivational interviewing, harm reduction, and trauma informed care approaches within the context of New Beginnings program.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment:
- Must be able to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift to 25 pounds / carry up to 15 pounds for short periods of time.
- Must be able to occasionally participate in physical activities throughout the facility, on the property and in the community.
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
