New Beginnings Birth Center & Ultrasound Studio is expanding. As we add new diagnostic and non-diagnostic ultrasound services to better serve families in the Treasure Valley, we are seeking a qualified Sonographer to join our growing clinical team. This role will perform diagnostic medical ultrasounds that will be interpreted by a board-certified radiologist and will also perform elective (non-diagnostic) keepsake imaging services. We are looking for someone who combines clinical excellence with compassionate, family-centered care. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, excellent client care skills, and a thorough understanding of anatomy and physiology related to obstetrics and gynecology. The sonographer will provide accurate imaging results that support physician/midwife and client support needs. Responsibilities & Qualifications
- Perform obstetric and gynecological ultrasound examinations, and elective imaging procedures.
- Operate advanced medical imaging equipment (GE Voluson) with precision, ensuring high-quality images for diagnostic and non-diagnostic purposes.
- Accurately document findings using appropriate medical terminology and communicate results effectively to physicians/midwifes.
- Provide compassionate client care, explaining procedures clearly and addressing patient concerns professionally.
- Maintain compliance with safety protocols, including infection control practices and radiation safety standards when applicable.
- Assist in the interpretation of ultrasound images in collaboration with medical staff, contributing to diagnostic radiology processes.
- Keep detailed records of examinations, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality in accordance with healthcare regulations.
- Proven experience or training in sonography, with specialization in obstetrics and gynecology.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to maternal-fetal medicine and Ob/Gyn conditions.
- Proficiency in medical imaging techniques, including ultrasound technology, with a focus on diagnostic radiology standards.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and healthcare team members.
- Ability to demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and compassion in client care settings.
- Ability to be involved in marketing services for social media etc.
- Other duties as needed for job role.
Diagnostic Ultrasound Responsibilities
- Perform first, second, and third trimester OB studies/ultrasounds
- Perform gynecologic imaging (as applicable)
- Acquire diagnostic-quality images according to protocol
- Accurately document client history and clinical indications
- Submit completed studies for radiologist review
- Follow ALARA principles and ultrasound safety standards
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and proper medical record documentation
- Collaborate with supervising providers and interpreting radiologist
Elective / Non-Diagnostic Responsibilities
- Provide 2D/3D/4D/HD Live sessions
- Perform gender determination and confirmation
- Deliver high-quality images and video packages
- Create a warm, welcoming family experience
Required Credentials for Diagnostic ImagingTo perform diagnostic ultrasounds reviewed by a radiologist, candidates must have:
- Graduation from an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
- Active credential through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- RDMS credential required
- OB/GYN specialty (OB) required OR credential through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Sonography (S)
Pay: $27.26 - $32.43 per hour
