Looking for a fun summer job where you can make a difference, stay active, and build leadership skills? New Bedford Public Schools is hiring high school students to help lead summer activities and support our Summer Food Service Program!
As a Student Intern, you’ll be a role model, activity leader, and team motivator—helping younger students have a safe, fun, and active summer. From organizing games to encouraging teamwork and good sportsmanship, you’ll help create an awesome summer experience for kids across our community.
This is more than just a summer job—it’s a chance to give back. Many children in New Bedford rely on school programs for consistent meals, and that support is especially important during the summer months. In this role, you’ll help ensure that every child feels welcomed, supported, and cared for while stepping up as a leader in your community.
What You’ll Do:
Lead games, sports, and group activities
Encourage teamwork, respect, and good sportsmanship
Support meal service and help create a welcoming environment
Be a positive role model for kids ages 0–18
Help plan fun, creative, and engaging daily activities
Work as part of a team to make each day exciting
Document activities and share feedback with program leaders

Qualifications:
Current New Bedford High School student
Must have a work permit
Enjoy working with kids and being active
Positive attitude and team player mindset
Willing to learn and participate in training
Reliable transportation
Program Details:
Dates: July 1 - August 21, 2026
Hours: Monday–Friday, 10:30 AM - 2:00 PM
Mandatory Training: June 30, 2026, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Pay: $15/hour (paid biweekly)
Non-Union Part-Time Role
