Duties
- Conduct detailed patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews to establish accurate diagnoses.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based practices and current clinical guidelines.
- Administer medications and injections, including botulinum toxin treatments and dermal fillers, ensuring proper technique and patient safety.
- Perform specialized procedures such as suturing, spinal taps, catheterizations, and IV insertions with precision and aseptic technique.
- Manage acute pain cases, coordinate care for patients in emergency rooms or ICU settings, and oversee triage processes for urgent needs.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently.
- Engage in clinical research projects and contribute to quality improvement initiatives to enhance healthcare delivery standards.
- Provide telehealth consultations to expand access to care while maintaining HIPAA compliance and high-quality service standards.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Nurse Practitioner in diverse clinical environments such as hospital medicine, emergency medicine, ICU, or trauma centers.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for documentation and order entry.
- Strong background in specialties like gastroenterology, geriatrics, behavioral health, or infectious disease care is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with procedures such as sonography, gastroscopy (including gastric lavage), pulmonary ventilation management (neonatal ventilator), or cardiac catheterization preferred.
- Critical care experience in Level I or Level II trauma centers or similar high-acuity settings is advantageous.
- Familiarity with CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding systems for accurate documentation and billing purposes.
- Knowledge of Workers' Compensation law, hospice & palliative medicine principles, and post-acute care processes enhances your ability to serve varied patient populations effectively.
