SUMMARY: The New Americans Alliance for Policy and Research (NAAPR) is a multiethnic nonprofit agency dedicated to advancing the prosperity, influence, and inclusion of refugees and immigrants through policy advocacy, education, research, and community-driven programs. We are seeking an experienced Billing Specialist for full-cycle behavioral health billing within the King County Integrated Care Network. This role ensures accurate, timely, and compliant submission of claims, reimbursement tracking, and coordination with payers, providers, and county systems.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare, submit, and track claims to King County Integrated Care Network and associated payers.
- Ensure accurate coding, claim entry, and adherence to Medicaid and county billing requirements.
- Follow up on denied or rejected claims and perform appeals as needed.
- Reconcile billing reports, remittances, and payment postings.
- Maintain billing records in compliance with HIPAA and county documentation standards.
- Collaborate with finance, program, and clinical teams to resolve billing discrepancies.
- Generate monthly billing and revenue reports for leadership.
- Support audit preparation and respond to compliance inquiries.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to identify and resolve gaps in billing processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 years of experience in medical, behavioral health, or government billing.
- Familiarity with Medicaid, Managed Care Organizations (MCOs), or integrated care systems
preferred.
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) and billing systems.
- Strong understanding of CPT/HCPCS coding and billing compliance standards.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and billing reconciliation tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills.
- Experience with King County or Washington State health systems.
- Knowledge of behavioral health billing (mental health and substance use services).
- Familiarity with integrated care or value-based reimbursement models.
- Prior experience working with nonprofit or public health agencies.
- Demonstrated ability and the necessary personal organization skills to take initiative, work independently and under pressure, and demonstrate personal ownership and accountability to meet deadlines and achieve agreed-upon results.
