Summary
This position will provide leadership and vision for the overall operation and management of the school corporations transportation department. This leadership role supports the safe transportation of students to and from school.
Supervises

Qualifications
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited university is preferred.
- Three to five years experience in transportation or a related field.
- A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years experience in a supervisory capacity including all aspects of the hiring, evaluation and disciplinary procedures for department staff.
- A valid C.D.L. License or the ability to obtain this license within 90 days of employment.
- Experience with transportation planning, budgeting, and implementation.
- Possess the highest personal standards, good morals, ethics, honesty, commitment and integrity.

- Develop and administer the transportation budget under the general supervision of other administrative staff.
- Prepare and implement the routing of all School Corporation owned buses used in student transportation and maintain buses in satisfactory operating condition.
- Implement School Corporation plans and develops a specific program to provide for the safety of students, employees and others in the operation of the transportation program.
- Administers the educational tour program of the School Corporation, including special trips, athletics and special assignments.
- Manages in collaboration with the Chief Financial Officer the transportation budget.
- Recommends a bus replacement program.
- Manages the training of CDL bus driver candidates for both NAFCS and area schools.
- Supervise bus drivers and other personnel employed in the transportation program, and administer state and federal laws and regulations, Board Policy and collective bargaining agreements applicable to the transportation program and its employees under the eneral supervision of other administrative staff.
- Effectively coordinate the activities in the Transportation Center with the educational programs and staff of the Prosser School of Technology located within the Transportation Center under the general supervision of other administrative staff.
- Interact successfully with parents, the general public and other employees of the School Corporation in resolving transportation issues and problems.
- Oversees Indiana State Police inspections of the NAFCS fleet.
- Serves on the weather safety team which includes road traveling during winter/inclement times.
- Stay current on laws, policies, trends, and best practices related to transportation.
- Collaborate with organizations and transportation directors in the region.
- Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Operations Officer or his/her designee.
