Job Duties:
Along with fellow Dining Room Managers, the Sommelier will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining daily operational details of multiple a la carte dining outlets while also managing the daily activities necessary for maintenance, inventory, and promotion of the Club's wine collection. Responsible for advising, selling and maintaining the 230 personal Member Wine Lockers as well as cultivating and supporting catering wine sales. Work with the Director of Restaurants and Executive Chef to provide ongoing food and wine education to the a la carte and catering service teams.
Qualifications:
Candidates who have passed the Certified Sommelier, Advanced or Master Sommelier Exam administered by the Court of Master Sommeliers are preferred, although individuals able to demonstrate in-depth and global knowledge of wine along with a proven track record of having successfully managed an up-market wine program catering to a sophisticated, well-traveled and diverse clientele will be considered.
It is important to have a passion for the industry combined with a commitment to remain current and adaptable to trends. A relentless desire to deliver superb experiences and a minimum of 3 years in fine dining management are a base requirement; club and/or Resort exposure is welcome.
The successful applicant will maintain a persona that reflects the established image of a premier private Club and will act as goodwill ambassador to members and their guests.
Experience with MS Word, Excel, POS systems, Publisher and Website maintenance (a plus). Hours vary and must be flexible. Evenings, weekends, and holidays are vital timeframes. Neat, professional appearance; applicant must be able to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period as well as move, lift, carry, push, pull or place objects weighing less than or equal to 30 pounds without assistance. Candidate may be asked to perform other reasonable duties as requested.
Benefits:
Base salary of $60,000 to $65,000 plus commissions
