New Albany Country Club is currently accepting resumes for Horticulturist Associates.
Job Overview:
An employee who assists the Horticulturist in monitoring and maintaining grounds and landscapes around the clubhouse. Assists in all Horticulture, Greens, and Grounds Department-related responsibilities.
Job Requirements:
1. Available to work full-time 6 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. including some weekends in the summer.
3. Physical ability to repeatedly lift 50 lbs.
4. General knowledge and ability to perform basic horticulture maintenance practices.
5. Must have reliable transportation

Job Duties:
Daily clean-up of trash and debris around exterior of clubhouse
Annual flower installation:
Organize flats of flowers in nursery by area to be planted, arrange flats of flowers for planting, help to install, 'water in' new plantings if weather is warm, closely monitor watering needs of newly planted annuals for first 2 weeks.
Annual flower planter installation:
Distribute pre-grown planters to designated locations, , plant up remaining planters as indicated, closely monitor watering needs of newly planted planters for first 2 weeks until individual plants have rooted into soil.
Monitoring of watering needs:
Planters, Monitor and supplemental watering of drip irrigated planters, manual watering of non-drip irrigated planters
Annual flower beds
Monitor and supplement watering of annual beds with poor irrigation
Monitoring the deadheading and weeding
Planters
Routinely deadhead unsightly flower heads, pay special attention to deadheading and clean up of terrace planters before weekends and special events
Perennial and Landscape beds
Routinely monitor beds around the clubhouse for weeds and deadheading of unsightly flowers.
Other duties as assigned.
Pay Rate: $15.00/hour
