CNC Programmer (SURFCAM & ESPRIT | Mills & Lathes)

New Age Manufacturing
Plattsmouth, NE Full Time
POSTED ON 8/13/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 12/5/2026

New Age Manufacturing is growing, and we're looking for a CNC Programmer with hands-on CNC programming experience who wants to continue developing their skills in a challenging manufacturing environment. You'll work with Doosan and Haas machining centers, Citizen Swiss machines, robotic automation, and SURFCAM and ESPRIT to manufacture precision components for customers across a variety of industries. If you enjoy solving machining challenges and developing efficient manufacturing processes—not just writing G-code—we'd like to meet you.

Our work is diverse, our standards are high, and you'll have the opportunity to program parts from prototype through production instead of spending every day on the same repetitive jobs.

Our programmers work closely with machinists, quality personnel, and production leadership to develop efficient, repeatable manufacturing processes for a wide variety of precision components.

As an ISO 9001:2015 certified precision manufacturer with a team of more than 50 employees, we produce tight-tolerance components for customers across multiple industries using advanced CNC machining, Citizen Swiss machining, robotic automation, in-house anodizing, painting, powder coating, lapping, polishing, assembly, and comprehensive quality inspection. We machine components from aluminum, brass, copper, stainless steel, engineering plastics, and other specialty materials. No two days are exactly alike, and you'll have the opportunity to work on a diverse mix of challenging parts rather than the same production job every day.

This is a first-shift position at our Plattsmouth, Nebraska facility.

What You'll Do

  • Develop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs for mills and lathes using CAM software.
  • Review customer prints, CAD models, and GD&T requirements to develop efficient machining strategies.
  • Select tooling, workholding, fixtures, and machining methods for new jobs.
  • Create setup documentation and tooling lists for production.
  • Support setup personnel during prove-outs and resolve programming or machining issues.
  • Improve existing programs to reduce cycle times, improve tool life, and increase manufacturing efficiency.
  • Work closely with machinists, quality personnel, and management to continuously improve manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain organized program files and manufacturing documentation.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, efficiency, and productivity.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone with solid CNC programming experience who enjoys solving manufacturing challenges and takes pride in producing high-quality work.

Success in this role requires exceptional attention to detail. The ability to identify potential issues before they reach the shop floor, write accurate and efficient programs, and consistently produce precision components that meet exact customer specifications is essential.

Ideal qualifications include:

  • Experience programming CNC mills, lathes, or both using CAM software.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Ability to plan complete machining processes, including operation sequencing, tooling selection, and workholding.
  • Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling selection, feeds and speeds, and workholding.
  • Experience troubleshooting machining and programming issues.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with machinists and other team members.
  • A desire to continually improve manufacturing processes.

We currently use SURFCAM and ESPRIT. Experience with SURFCAM is preferred, but we also welcome candidates with Mastercam, SolidWorks CAM, or other professional CAM software experience. If you have a strong programming background, we'll provide training on our software and processes.

Experience with Doosan, Haas, Citizen, or similar CNC controls is also a plus.

We're looking for someone who enjoys collaborating with others, sharing ideas, and helping make a good shop even better. If you're motivated by solving problems, improving processes, and taking pride in quality workmanship, you'll fit in well with our team.

We believe the best ideas often come from the people doing the work, and we're continually investing in new equipment, automation, technology, and our employees.
