Every Other Weekend Nursing Supervisor

Responsibilities of the Weekend Nursing Supervisor Include:

• Monitor staffing schedule and allocate personnel to meet the needs of the residents.
• Functions as a clinical resource, assisting and coaching the staff using nursing process and practice guidelines in making clinical decisions based on data and assessment of the residents.
• Is the “person in charge” of the center and directs staff to ensure timely response during emergencies.
• Conducts rounds on each unit to monitor staff assignments, and resident concerns and makes adjustments as dictated by circumstances and resident needs.
• Evaluates individual residents and, manages the team and implements/adjusts the care plan to address the needs and goals of each resident as necessary.
• Ensures that residents in acute distress are stabilized and monitored until further medical assistance can be obtained.
• Contacts physicians directly when necessary to ensure timely care of the residents. Works collaboratively with other departments, physicians, nurse practitioners, medical providers, vendors, and staff.
• Communicate effectively with family and visitors.
• Demonstrates the knowledge of and ability to honor the rights and dignity of residents, staff, visitors and community as well as dealing honesty with the residents or centers property and information.
• Ensures the knowledge of the fire and disaster plan as well as the use of personal protective equipment by staff and for themselves.
  
  
  

Qualifications Of The Weekend Nursing Supervisor

• Experience in the long term care setting as a supervisor or manager is preferred.
• At least one year of experience in leadership and supervision of peer staff
• Excellent interpersonal skills - able to communicate and work well with others including the elderly, families, and co-workers.
• RN or LPN Nursing Licensure
• Schedule: 2, 12-hour shifts per day, Weekends. Every-other weekend schedule opportunity.
