Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Boat Mechanic (Boat Mech) to join our dynamic marine maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of boat systems to ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability. Your expertise will help deliver exceptional service to our clients and keep our fleet operating smoothly. Duties

  • Mercury certified for outboard engins and drives
  • Raptor Engines for Supra Wake Surf Boats 300 hour tunes ups
  • Basic service for Engines, oil changes, filters, trailer lights and tire check
  • Perform comprehensive inspections of boats using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Repair and maintain engines, propulsion systems, electrical wiring, rigging, sheet metal components, and other marine hardware using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques.
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, belt adjustments, and system calibrations to ensure boats are in top condition.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments like calipers and ohmmeters to diagnose electrical faults and mechanical wear accurately.
  • Assemble or disassemble boat components following detailed schematics and technical specifications for repairs or upgrades.
  • Solder electrical connections and perform welding tasks to restore or enhance boat systems' integrity.
  • Assist with heavy lifting operations safely using rigging techniques to handle large components or equipment.
  • Maintain detailed service records, maintenance logs, and repair documentation for each vessel.
  • Collaborate with sales teams when recommending parts or upgrades to customers based on inspection findings.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to industry regulations.
  • Support ongoing training in electrical systems, fabrication techniques, or new marine technologies as needed.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a service technician or mechanic in marine or vehicle maintenance environments; military background is a plus.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience working with engines, electrical systems, sheet metal fabrication, welding (including soldering), and rigging.
  • Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools such as calipers and ohmmeters.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy lifting gear safely and effectively.
  • Experience working with electrical systems including wiring diagrams and troubleshooting electrical faults.
  • Ability to read blueprints and assembly instructions accurately for repairs or modifications.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly.
  • Knowledge of maintenance procedures for boats or similar vehicles; experience in fabrication or sheet metal work is advantageous.
  • Physical ability to perform heavy lifting regularly while maintaining safety standards.
  • Strong attention to detail combined with a proactive approach to troubleshooting issues quickly and efficiently.
