We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Boat Mechanic (Boat Mech) to join our dynamic marine maintenance team. Duties
- Mercury certified for outboard engins and drives
- Raptor Engines for Supra Wake Surf Boats 300 hour tunes ups
- Basic service for Engines, oil changes, filters, trailer lights and tire check
- Perform comprehensive inspections of boats using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
- Repair and maintain engines, propulsion systems, electrical wiring, rigging, sheet metal components, and other marine hardware using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, belt adjustments, and system calibrations to ensure boats are in top condition.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments like calipers and ohmmeters to diagnose electrical faults and mechanical wear accurately.
- Assemble or disassemble boat components following detailed schematics and technical specifications for repairs or upgrades.
- Solder electrical connections and perform welding tasks to restore or enhance boat systems' integrity.
- Assist with heavy lifting operations safely using rigging techniques to handle large components or equipment.
- Maintain detailed service records, maintenance logs, and repair documentation for each vessel.
- Collaborate with sales teams when recommending parts or upgrades to customers based on inspection findings.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to industry regulations.
- Support ongoing training in electrical systems, fabrication techniques, or new marine technologies as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a service technician or mechanic in marine or vehicle maintenance environments; military background is a plus.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience working with engines, electrical systems, sheet metal fabrication, welding (including soldering), and rigging.
- Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools such as calipers and ohmmeters.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy lifting gear safely and effectively.
- Experience working with electrical systems including wiring diagrams and troubleshooting electrical faults.
- Ability to read blueprints and assembly instructions accurately for repairs or modifications.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly.
- Knowledge of maintenance procedures for boats or similar vehicles; experience in fabrication or sheet metal work is advantageous.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting regularly while maintaining safety standards.
- Strong attention to detail combined with a proactive approach to troubleshooting issues quickly and efficiently.
