Role Description This is an on-site Carpenter contract role based in Miami, FL. The Carpenter will support Nevarez Communications by building, installing, and maintaining custom structures and installations for events, sets, displays, and office or studio environments. Daily tasks include measuring, cutting, and assembling wood and related materials, reading and interpreting drawings or layout directives, and collaborating with design and production teams to bring concepts to life. The role involves operating and maintaining hand tools and power tools, performing framing and finish carpentry work, and ensuring all builds are safe, stable, and aligned with project specifications. The Carpenter will also be responsible for maintaining a clean, organized work area, following site safety protocols, and meeting project deadlines in a fast-paced, production-focused environment.
Qualifications
- Strong carpentry skills, including experience with structural builds, set construction, and custom installations.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools, with a focus on safe, efficient operation and basic maintenance.
- Experience in framing work, including measuring, cutting, and assembling structural components.
- Finish carpentry skills for detailed work such as trim, fixtures, and presentation-quality surfaces.
- Ability to read and follow drawings, layouts, or basic plans and translate concepts into accurate builds.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to adapt to changing project needs.
- Capability to perform physical tasks, including lifting materials, standing for extended periods, and working with tools and equipment safely.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with production, design, and event staff.
- Previous experience in event, production, or commercial carpentry is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant trade training or apprenticeship is a plus.
