Our center is proud to maintain a Gold Rating through Ohio's Step Up To Quality (SUTQ) and is committed to providing high-quality early childhood education in a safe, nurturing, and professional environment.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Childcare Director, Assistant Director, Early Childhood Education Leader, or experienced childcare supervisor who is ready to make a meaningful impact on children, families, and educators.The ideal candidate is a confident, organized, approachable, and dependable leader who can effectively manage daily center operations while building a positive culture for children, families, and staff.Position SummaryThe Childcare Center Director is responsible for the overall day-to-day leadership and operation of the childcare center. Responsibilities include staff supervision, employee development, classroom quality, Ohio childcare licensing compliance, SUTQ quality standards, family engagement, enrollment, scheduling, administrative operations, and maintaining a positive center culture.The Director will work closely with ownership and the leadership team to ensure the center operates efficiently while maintaining high standards of child safety, early childhood education, program quality, and family service.Key ResponsibilitiesCenter Leadership & OperationsProvide strong daily leadership and oversight of the childcare center.Ensure the center operates in compliance with Ohio Department of Children and Youth (DCY) licensing requirements and applicable Ohio Administrative Code requirements.Manage daily center operations, staffing, scheduling, classroom coverage, and administrative priorities.Maintain accurate center records and required documentation.Support enrollment, family retention, and overall center growth.Work collaboratively with ownership and leadership to identify operational needs and opportunities for improvement.Staff Leadership & Employee DevelopmentRecruit, interview, onboard, train, and support qualified childcare teachers and staff.Supervise employee performance and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and professional development.Promote employee engagement, accountability, teamwork, and retention.Build a positive workplace culture where teachers feel supported, valued, and motivated to provide high-quality care.Early Childhood Program Quality & SUTQMaintain and support the center's Gold-Rated Step Up To Quality (SUTQ) status.Support continuous quality improvement initiatives.Ensure developmentally appropriate curriculum and learning experiences are implemented consistently.Monitor classroom quality, teacher-child interactions, lesson planning, documentation, and learning environments.Support teachers in meeting professional development and educational requirements.Promote high standards of early childhood education and developmentally appropriate practices.CACFP & Administrative ComplianceOversee and maintain compliance with the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), including menus, meal records, documentation, and required reporting.Ensure administrative records and required documentation are maintained accurately and timely.Assist with center reporting and other operational compliance requirements.Required QualificationsAssociate's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or a related field.Minimum of 2–3 years of supervisory or leadership experience, preferably in an early childhood education or childcare setting.Experience working with children in a licensed childcare or early learning environment.Knowledge of DCY childcare licensing regulations and early childhood best practices.Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.Ability to supervise, coach, and hold employees accountable while maintaining positive working relationships.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced childcare environment.Strong commitment to child safety, quality education, and family service.Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience as a Childcare Center Director, Assistant Director, Childcare Supervisor, Lead Teacher, or Early Childhood Education Administrator.Experience with Ohio Step Up To Quality (SUTQ).Knowledge of Ohio's Early Learning and Development Standards.Experience with staff recruitment, employee retention, enrollment, family engagement, and center operations.Experience with quality improvement or accreditation processes.Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, Child Development,
