POSITION TITLE: Outreach Specialist
DEPARTMENT: Partnership for Success
STATUS: Non-Exempt
SUPERVISOR: PFS Coordinator
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION AND ROLE:
Partnership for Success (PFS) is grant based community and youth focused program.
Program Assistant Position
Under the supervision of the PFS Coordinator and/or Executive Director, this position is responsible for all outreach, population identification, and establishment of relationship with other service providing agencies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following duties are typical of those performed by employees in this position,duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Schedule cultural and educational activities and provide supervision of participating youth; monitor and supervise youths participating in after-school program.
· Provide individual client-based services and increasing the reach of prevention and intervention strategies Plans and conducts community outreach programs and presentations in substance abuse
· Attend neighborhood council meetings while assisting in community mobilization.
· Maintain working relationship with neighborhood schools and documentation of services provided
· Networks with tribes and community organizations to implement events.
· Perform work and program activities according to the programs scope of work to the public including Native American and Alaska Native youth and families.
· Participate in community organizations, with a focus on at-risk youth, for substance abuse and prevention and suicide prevention programming
· Provide daily program reports and meeting in person with the PFS Coordinator and/or Executive Director including outreach plan and result, activities, plan for improvement, suggestion, statistic and data collection for grant reports.
· Increase client outreach by enhancing agency programming and data collection.
· Assist in identify the localities of the targeted populations of youth.
· Attend staff meetings and participate in staff training and development.
· Provide daily program reports and meeting in person with the PFS Coordinator and/or CEO.
· Implements outreach events with other NUI programs and agencies.
· Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations
· Other duties as assigned.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
Education
Associates’ degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, Social Services, Public Administration, Communications, Education, Public Health or a related field.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, experience working on a multi-disciplinary team, youth development leadership skills, and experience conducting outreach and wellness activities with youth.
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent human relation skills.
Experience in working in a culturally diverse community setting.
Prior training or knowledge in substance abuse and/or suicide prevention or health related programming
Experience working with Native American communities
