Activity Director – Henderson (Exempt)
Position Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Adult Day Care & Rehabilitation Services, the Activity Director plans, coordinates, and oversees engaging programs and services for adult day care clients. This role ensures client safety, well-being, and meaningful participation in activities while managing staff, volunteers, and community partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Program Planning & Client Engagement
- Plan, develop, and implement daily activities, events, and themed programs.
- Integrate arts, crafts, and recreation into individual care plans.
- Conduct quarterly assessments of clients’ social, emotional, and recreational needs.
- Prepare monthly activity calendars and CACFP-compliant lunch menus.
- Coordinate special events, entertainment, and community-based programs.
- Encourage and assist client participation in activities, exercises, and classes.
Client Care & Safety
- Monitor client well-being throughout the day (“eyes on the floor”).
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, mobility, and meals.
- Ensure timely first aid and follow-up on incident reports (SORs).
- Maintain accurate documentation, charting, and daily logs.
Staff Supervision & Training
- Supervise Program Aides, Nurse, and provide guidance to kitchen staff.
- Schedule, train, and evaluate staff performance.
- Lead onboarding and 2-week training program for new Program Aides.
- Oversee staff assignments and service delivery to clients.
Volunteer & Community Relations
- Recruit, onboard, and manage volunteers and student interns.
- Build partnerships with community organizations for events, donations, and engagement.
- Coordinate volunteer programs and external entertainment.
Operations & Administration
- Ensure compliance with policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage visitor screening and facility protocols.
- Assist with tours for prospective clients, families, and partners.
- Support reporting requirements, including quarterly grant updates.
- Collaborate across departments (nursing, dietary, administration, front desk).
- Act as site lead in the absence of the Director.
Additional Duties
- Assist with meals, housekeeping, and general facility support as needed.
- Answer front desk calls and support administrative tasks.
- Participate in meetings, trainings, and caregiver support programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree required; Bachelor’s preferred in a related field.
- Relevant experience in adult day care, recreation, or healthcare services.
- CPR certification and Elder Abuse Awareness training.
- Valid Nevada driver’s license.
- Background check, TB test, and health clearance required.
