Nevada Retina Associates has an opening for an enthusiastic and energetic Front Office Receptionist for our Carson City office. Ophthalmic/Optical or medical/dental office experience is preferred. We are looking for a hard working person who is dependable, punctual, has excellent customer service and patient communication skills, and is an exceptional self-driven, independent worker.
Job Duties:
This position is responsible for the day-to-day duties of the front desk which includes the function for check in/check out of patients and to schedule follow up appointments. Answer phones and route calls and/or take appropriate messages. Field triage calls for new and existing patients. Collect patient copays and balances. Input accurate data for scheduling, insurance, and demographics into our Practice Management system. This position makes first and last contact with patients creating a pleasant first and last impression.
We require the individual to be dependable, responsible, flexible with hours and confident with multi-tasking to help the front office stay on top of patient care.
Job Requirements:
- 2 years experience in a medical office preferred. Retina, Ophthalmology, or Optometry a plus.
- Effectively communicate information to patients, doctors, technicians and referring physicians.
- Efficiently works independently and is a self-starter and multi-tasker with strong organizational skills.
- Excellent problem solving skills including the ability to make decisions and to adjust to unexpected situations.
- Demonstrate empathy, concern, good listening skills and compassion for all patients.
- Excellent people skills, a team player attitude, and ability to work with diverse individuals in a complex organization and establish strong, cooperative working relationships.
- Proficiency using a Scheduling Program; also Outlook, Word & Excel experience preferred.
- Spanish bilingual preferred but not required.
High School Graduation a must. Some advanced education/certifications highly preferred.
