*Bi-lingual a huge plus (ENGLISH & SPANISH!!)
HOURS: M-F 8:30AM - 5:00PM (30-minute lunch)
Summary
We are looking for a medical biller/collector to join our team at Nevada Pediatric Specialists, a fast-growing and dynamic pediatric practice in Henderson, NV. You will be responsible for all accounts receivable and accounts payable accounts including submitting claims, following up on payments, resolving denials and coordination of benefits issues, verify eligibility, pay bills, and collecting outstanding balances from patients and insurance companies. You will also work closely with our front office staff, providers, and billing manager to ensure accurate and timely billing and collections.
Note: This is an on-site position. No remote work available.
Responsibilities
- Work with a sense of urgency and accuracy
- Insurance and patient accounts receivable
- Prepare and submit claims to various insurance companies electronically or by paper
- Review and verify patient information, insurance coverage, and eligibility
- Timely follow up on unpaid or denied claims and appeal as necessary
- Accurately post payments and adjustments to patient accounts
- Identify and resolve billing errors and discrepancies & follow up on unpaid claims
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients and insurance companies regarding billing and payment issues
- Manage patient collections timely
- Set up payment plans and settlements with patients and third-party agencies
- Generate and analyze reports on billing and collection activities and performance
- Maintain compliance with billing and collection policies and procedures
- Keep up to date with coding and billing regulations and industry standards
- Have a strong knowledge of payer specific billing and coding guidelines in the state of Nevada for private and Medicaid payers
- Verify eligibility and benefits for both office locations
- Manage accounts payable for the practice
Requirements
- Positive attitude
- Medical Billing Diploma/Certificate (CPC Coding Certification or CBP Billing Certification Preferred)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 years of experience in medical billing and collections, preferably in a pediatric setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) and billing software (eClinicalWorks Preferred)
- Ability to work with various insurance plans and payer guidelines
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
- Can work ethically, independently and in a team environment
- Manage high stress situations
- Knows how to use Excel and all other Microsoft Office Products
- Generate daily, weekly, monthly reports
Minimum of 1 year of medical billing experience is required.
Pediatric medical billing experience is highly preferred.
