Job Overview
Nevada Nephrology Consultants is currently hiring! If you are a Certified Medical Assistant with Front Desk Experience please consider joining our dynamic group. We offer competitive wages and benefits. This is a full-time position Monday - Thursday 8-5, and Friday 8-3. This person will work in both the Front Office as a Front Desk Administrator and Back Office as a Medical Assistant. You will also need reliable transportation to travel to off-site clinic locations.
*This position requires a bilingual (English/Spanish) Certified Medical Assistant in order to meet the needs of our patients.* You also must have National Certification as a Medical Assistant in addition to your certificate from MA school graduation.
Job Duties:
Front Office:
1. Welcome patients as they contact the office personally or by telephone, and explain the services available, payment categories, and billing procedures.
2. Schedule appointments; direct walk-in patients and emergencies as per established policies and procedures.
3. Register all patients per registration protocols and collect all documentation.
4. Reviews and verifies patient coverage of insurance or other agencies and computes the charges to be paid by the patient.
5. Collects deposits or co-pays/deductibles prior to the patient being seen by the provider per established policies and procedures.
Inform patient of their outstanding balance, collect said balance, and issue receipt when monies are collected.
6. Review referral requests for completeness/accuracy and schedule any follow-up appointment as indicated.
7. Work closely with Medical and Nursing staff to ensure smooth patient flow and cut down on waiting time.
8. Check office supplies regularly and advise of any needs.
9. Fill in at front desk when needed.
- Back Office:
- 1. Room patients, obtain vitals, patient history and reason for seeking care.
- 2. Follow prescription refill procedures.
- 3. Maintain patient records confidentially.
- 4. Assist the provider with patient education pertaining to their ongoing health care.
- 5. Daily monitoring of labs/faxes/calls/epic for assigned physician(s).
- Additional Responsibilities
- 1. Maintain work area, exam rooms, supplies and medications.
- 2. Enter data into the EMR system.
- 3. Perform basic triage per specific office protocol procedures.
- 4. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff and management.
- 5. Ability and willingness to treat all patients with the utmost kindness and consideration.
- 6. Friendly personality with a desire to work with the public and assist patients.
- 7. Performing other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
Certification/Licensure:
- CMA, CCMA, NCMA, RMA certification is required.
- CPR certification is required.
- NV Driver's License is required.
Experience:
- Recent front and back office experience in a Nephrology/Internal Medicine/Family Practice/Specialist Office
Skills:
- Medical terminology.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of EMR and ICD-10 coding procedures.
- Knowledge of medications and pharmacy procedures.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish is necessary for communication with patients.
- Use of Electronic Medical Records (especially Epic).
- Knowledge of handling doctor's labs/faxes/calls.
- Front Desk and back office knowledge and skills.
Other Requirements:
- Maintain current CPR and Current MA Licenses.
- Ability to communicate effectively in the English language in person, by phone and in writing.
- Requires adherence to all policies and procedures, including but not limited to standards for safety, attendance, punctuality and personal appearance.
- Valid Driver's License without restrictions.
- Reliable Transportation to go between offices.
- Full background check and References.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
- Reliability is critical.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
