What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities (Janitorial) Event Associate position at Nevada Museum of Art?
Full time/Non- Exempt/40 hours a week, Wednesdays- Sundays, incorporating evenings and weekends as needed. Night and weekend availability required. The Museum is an EOE.
The Facilities Event Associate, for the Nevada Museum of Art, will provide support for the daily operations of the Museum. This position is responsible for coordinating and executing daily event set-up and tear-down needs, with emphasis on special events and assisting in the daily routine cleaning of all Museum spaces. This position requires flexibility, attention to detail, and a motivated self-starter. This position reports to reports to the Vice President of Facilities.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Set up and tear down daily Museum events.
- Maintain the standard of cleanliness in all areas by participating in daily routine cleaning of all Museum spaces.
- Attends and participates in the weekly Event Operations Meetings to gain a full understanding of the events schedule.
- When requested, initiate event setup and teardown with outside contractors or clients as outlined on Banquet Event Order.
- Perform routine upkeep of exterior parking lot and perimeter by ensuring the perimeter is free of trash and other debris.
- Collect garbage and recycling daily throughout all Museum spaces
- Communicate additional recycling and garbage needs with high volume events, adhering to pick up schedules and capacity.
- Restock and maintain facility and events storage spaces and report any items that need repair.
- Identify areas that need additional non-routine cleaning and self-initiate additional tasks once daily routine has been completed.
- Pressure washing exterior spaces, surfaces, and equipment
- Assist with ice and snow removal as needed
- Respond to biohazard and emergency clean-up while maintaining a high level of personal safety as well as safety of others.
- Practice Museum policies and procedures to ensure the safety of visitors, artwork, Museum equipment, and property.
- Other duties as assigned.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Must have at least 2 years working experience in cleaning and maintenance related work
- Valid driver's license
- Able to work off ladders and perform all cleaning skills as described above
- Capable of lifting, moving objects of up to 50 pounds
- Knowledge of basic best practices concerning standards methods of facilities/janitorial
- Ability to follow security procedures outlined by the Security department
