Full-time Weekend Street Outreach Worker for the Nevada Homeless Alliance, a 501c3 nonprofit organization. The Nevada Homeless Alliance was established to provide a cohesive voice and lead collaborative initiatives to address homelessness through connecting public, private, nonprofit, and faith-based organizations. It is the mission of the Nevada Homeless Alliance to create impactful partnerships and promote collaboration among private, public, and non-profit sectors through advocacy, events, and education.

10am-8pm (Normally scheduled working hours may change periodically as it pertains to accommodating holidays, special events, training, and inclement weather).
Location: In-Office/In-Field in Las Vegas. Local travel is required.
Position summary
The Nevada Homeless Alliance is seeking compassionate, empathetic individuals to work as part of a dynamic team. This position is responsible for conducting street outreach and engaging the unsheltered population, offering immediate resources and referrals to assist individuals in transitioning from homelessness to permanent, sustainable housing. Key responsibilities include program enrollment, housing assessments, and providing referrals for shelter, medical care, mental health services, and substance abuse treatment. The role will be carried out in alignment with the organization’s mission, policies, and guidelines, with specific projects assigned as needed.

Duties and responsibilities
- Carry out street outreach activities under the direction and supervision of the City of North Las Vegas Homeless Services Manager, City of North Las Vegas Homeless Services Technician, and Nevada Homeless Alliance Street Outreach Supervisor.
- Assist the Street Outreach Supervisor in managing the team’s administrative tasks and outreach responsibilities, including driving a vehicle as needed.
- Support individuals experiencing homelessness by helping remove barriers to stable housing and other vital service needs.
- Track and manage daily outreach counts, providing summaries to the Street Outreach Supervisor and Technician at the end of each day.
- Submit a detailed daily outreach summary, including efforts and encounters, to the Coordinator, Technician, and Street Outreach Supervisor by the close of each workday.
- Prepare weekly and monthly outreach reports, including totals from the count sheet and a success story showcasing a meaningful encounter that led to a positive change for an unsheltered individual.
- Maintain open and effective communication with all team members to ensure seamless coordination and collaboration.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma - or the equivalent (GED) is required.
A minimum of 1 year of experience working with the unsheltered population and providing immediate resources and referrals is strongly preferred. However, individuals with lived experience of homelessness are encouraged to apply.
Ability to interact with people of all ages, cultures, and backgrounds and passion for marginalized people and impatience with the status quo.
Experience working with HMIS, data entry, and Microsoft programs is strongly preferred.
Bilingual ability (Spanish/English) is preferred.
A valid Nevada driver’s license and clean driving record is required.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Compensation
$48,000 yearly
