Vitesse Systems is looking for a Capture Lead to join the team in Longmont, Colorado! Capture Lead is responsible for driving end-to-end capture strategy and execution for high-priority U.S. government, civil, and international space and defense opportunities, aligning cross-functional teams to deliver winning proposals and sustainable growth.

The Role

The Capture Lead hosts planning sessions, coordinates with business development and technical teams, and engages regularly with government customers and industry partners. They will monitor competitive activity, oversee proposal development readiness, and ensure all efforts align with organizational goals and capture

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead capture strategy development for priority U.S. government programs in defense, intelligence, and civil space.
  • Build and manage opportunity pipelines aligned with corporate growth goals and strategic partnerships.
  • Direct capture teams through win strategy creation, customer engagement planning, and solution positioning.
  • Oversee competitor assessments, pricing strategy input, and proposal readiness reviews.
  • Partner closely with Business Development, Program Management, and Technical Leadership to ensure pursuit alignment and bid quality.
  • Maintain trusted relationships with federal stakeholders, primes, and key subcontractors across the national security ecosystem.
  • Drive disciplined, metrics-based capture reviews and ensure adherence to internal governance processes.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience

  • 12 years of experience in federal capture management or government contracting, ideally within aerospace, defense, or mission systems.
  • Proven track record leading successful captures >$100M with agencies such as DoD, NASA, or the Intelligence Community.
  • Expertise in DoD and IC acquisition frameworks, FAR/DFARS compliance, and federal contracting strategy.
  • Strong leadership presence, executive communication skills, and ability to engage directly with senior government decision-makers.
  • Active U.S. Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance strongly preferred.

 

Vitesse Systems, LLC performs work controlled by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR).  These statutes require the protection of technical data and products.  The regulations require that such data not be disclosed in written, oral, or visual form to any foreign national without prior export authorization from the Department of State.  A foreign national is defined by the U.S. Government under EAR 734.2(b)(2)(ii) and 8 USC 110 (a)(20) as one who:

  • Is not a United States citizen
  • Is not lawfully admitted for permanent residence in the U.S.
  • Does not have politically protected status (embassy, refugee, or asylum)

Salary : $142,800 - $224,300
