Nevada Gold Mines (NGM) is a joint venture between Barrick (61.5%) and Newmont (38.5%) that combined our significant assets across Nevada in 2019 to create the single largest gold-producing complex in the world. The massive mining operation comprises eight mines along with their associated infrastructure and processing facilities and hosts three of Barrick’s Tier One assets: Carlin, Cortez, and Turquoise Ridge. Responsibilities
Reporting to the Dewatering/Utility Supervisor, the Dewatering Technician is responsible for the following:
- Perform maintenance on dewatering pipelines and pumps; weld steel pipe and fabricate; operate boom truck, dozer, forklift and dump trucks as needed
- Monitor and maintain the dewatering pumping and discharge facilities which includes, but is not limited to wells, pipelines, flow meters and pressure gauges and responsible for accurate documentation of dewatering data
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Experience operating and trouble-shooting pumps and piping problems preferred
- Basic Mechanical skills preferred
- Welding and fabrication skills required
- Experience operating equipment including the following: boom truck, dozer, forklift, backhoe, overhead crane, fusion welders and trucks required
- Ability to walk on uneven ground in all weather conditions required
- Ability to support work group in attainment of safety, environmental, equipment protection and production goals with a proven safety record required
- Demonstrated ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations required
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, follow instructions, and provide feedback is required
- Good written and verbal communication skills required
