Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Training Supervisor at our Carlin Underground Division. The successful candidate will engage with several key internal and external stakeholders to initiate and support safe and responsible mining operations.

Responsibilities

• Responsibleforthedirectsupervision,mentoringandcoachingof trainees.
• Possess a strong application of leadership to execute the training plan, mine plan and improve performancebyleadingtheteamtodeliversafe,environmentallysound,andefficientgoldproduction.
• Effectivelymaintainemployeetraining,evaluationsandcollaborationwithpeers,operations, maintenance, and support teams.
• Communicate,coach,andassistinthefieldtoensuresafetyandtrainingexpectationsareunderstood and met.
• Assistinthedevelopmentandimplementationoftrainingprogramsfor competency.
• Maintainsitecompliancetoensurethatemployeeshavethenecessaryskills,knowledge,andattitude to perform their assigned tasks in a safe, efficient, and environmentally sound manner.
• CreateandmaintainaccuratetrainingrecordsinaccordancewithMSHA regulations.
• Conductobservationsincollaborationwiththeoperating departments.
• Abilitytocreatetrainingcoursesbasedonsite needs.
• Developteachingoutlinesanddetermineinstructionalmethodssuchasindividualtraining,group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, meetings, and workshops.
• Excellentanddemonstratedpersonalcommitmenttosafety,health,and training.
• Assistinthestandardizationofdivisionalprocedures,guidelines,andplannedtask observations.
• Auditandreviewtrainingcourses,materials,andprogramsforcontinuous improvement.
• AssistintheimplementationofaCompetencyBasedTrainingsystemthatensuresinformationis delivered in a manner that employees will retain.
• Assistinthetrackingoftasktrainingandplannedtask observations.
• Maintaindocumentcontroland management.
• Maintaintrainingrecordswithassociatedsupportingdocumentationincompliancewithsiterepository directives.
• AssistintheplanningandschedulingofAnnualRefresherTrainingforall employees.
• Facilitatenewminer,experiencedminer,hazard,siteandtaskspecifictrainingcoursesas needed.
• Participatewithalignmentofsiteinitiativesor mandates.
• Performotherdutiesas assigned
  
  

Qualifications

• MSHA Instructor Certification (blue card) preferred
• Five (5) years of experience in underground mining and heavy equipment operation with demonstrated leadership ability and success in relevant technical assignment preferred
• Proven experience in working with peer groups and focus teams required
• Ability to drive results and ensure completion of time sensitive deadlines required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
• Excellent leadership skills and knowledge of influencing others required
• Ability to promote safety in training and lead by example required
• Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook preferred
• Proven safe work record required
