We are looking for a full time Laboratory Manager who is enthusiastic about supporting our mission and growing within a dynamic IVF laboratory environment.

Position Summary

The Reproductive Laboratory Manager is responsible for the oversight, coordination, and performance of the Embryology, Andrology, and Reproductive Hormone (Endocrinology) laboratories. This position ensures compliance with all applicable regulatory and accreditation standards, including CLIA, NV State, CAP, TJC and FDA (as applicable), while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety, laboratory quality, and clinical outcomes.

The Manager serves as both a technical expert and operational leader, actively participating in laboratory procedures while overseeing personnel, quality systems, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Laboratory Operations & Oversight

  • Direct and oversee daily operations of the Embryology, Andrology, and Endocrinology laboratories to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.
  • Ensure proper handling, identification, processing, storage, and disposition of all specimens, including gametes, embryos, and reproductive tissues.
  • Maintain strict adherence to laboratory SOPs, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee documentation practices to ensure accuracy, completeness, and traceability of patient results and laboratory activities.
  • Perform and/or supervise advanced laboratory procedures, including but not limited to: oocyte identification, fertilization checks, embryo grading, ICSI, embryo biopsy, vitrification/warming, embryo transfer support, semen analysis, and reproductive hormone testing.

Staff Supervision & Development

  • Supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel, including embryologists, andrology staff, and laboratory technicians.
  • Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct competency assessments, performance evaluations, and ongoing training programs.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous learning.

Quality Assurance & Regulatory Compliance

  • Implement, maintain, and continuously improve quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) programs across all laboratory sections.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and clinical outcomes; identify trends and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, FDA, and AATB standards, including preparation for and participation in inspections and audits.
  • Oversee proficiency testing programs and ensure proper documentation of QC activities.
  • Identify and resolve technical or procedural issues that may impact test performance or result reporting.

Laboratory Practices & Professional Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all laboratory policies regarding specimen handling, processing, result reporting, and record maintenance.
  • Initially perform procedures under supervision as needed and demonstrate ongoing competency to perform all required laboratory services independently.
  • Exercise sound clinical judgment in evaluating laboratory data and making real-time decisions that impact patient care.
  • Participate in laboratory meetings, audits, and interdisciplinary collaborations.
  • Engage in continuing education to maintain certification and stay current with advances in reproductive laboratory science.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Laboratory Director.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Master of Science (M.S.) in a biological, chemical, or related laboratory science required.
  • Minimum of 5–8 years of progressive experience in a U.S.-based human IVF clinical laboratory.
  • Current or eligible Technical Supervisor certification (ABB), meeting applicable
  • state, CLIA and TJC/CAP requirements.
  • Demonstrated advanced technical proficiency in embryology, including ICSI, embryo biopsy, vitrification/warming, and embryo transfer support.
  • Strong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP, FDA (as applicable), and AATB/TJC regulations.
  • Proven experience supervising laboratory personnel, including training and competency assessment.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining QA/QC programs, including proficiency testing and CAPA processes.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex laboratory issues.
  • Excellent organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to make informed, real-time decisions impacting laboratory performance and patient outcomes.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Full-time, on-site position in a clinical laboratory setting.
  • May require weekend, holiday, and on-call coverage based on laboratory needs.
  • Requires adherence to all laboratory safety and biohazard protocols.

Salary : $150,000 - $180,000
