What You Will Do
- Charge entry, medical billing, and EOB payment posting
- Submit claims on a timely basis and follow up on unpaid claims
- Verify insurance benefits and obtain authorizations as needed
- Analyze, correct, and resubmit denied and rejected claims
- Process insurance payments, refunds, adjustments, and daily deposits
- Manual billing for cryopreservation and storage of embryos, oocytes, and sperm
- Conduct financial consultations with patients regarding fertility treatment plans
- Resolve patient billing inquiries via phone, email, portal, or in person
- Work with collection accounts and outside collection agencies
- Support front desk, financial counselor, and administrative teams as needed
- Other duties as assigned
What We Are Looking For
Required:
- Minimum 1 year of medical billing and/or collections experience
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding and medical terminology
- Strong customer service and telephone communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- High school diploma required; associate degree in accounting or business preferred
- BLS certificate required prior to start date
- Ability to manage high call volume and work in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities
Preferred:
- Experience with NextGen or other EMR systems
- Fertility or reproductive medicine billing experience
- Certificate from an accredited medical billing school
- Experience filing claim appeals with insurance companies
