Neuroworx is seeking a motivated and experienced Adaptive Group Fitness Instructor to join our team in a part-time role. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by leading group-based fitness programs for individuals navigating neurological conditions and physical rehabilitation.
Position Overview:
· Title: Adaptive Group Fitness Instructor
· Employment Type: Part-Time (Hourly)
· Pay: $12-25 (depending on qualifications and experience)
· Hours: Flexible; dependent on class schedule and program needs
· Responsibilities: Plan, set up, and lead adaptive group fitness classes for individuals with neurological diagnoses. Classes may include circuit training, strength training, and cardiovascular exercise. Programming should be tailored to a wide range of functional abilities and designed to support ongoing rehabilitation goals.
· Collaboration: Work collaboratively with physical and occupational therapists as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective, and goal-oriented programming.
· Mentorship: Seek and engage in mentorship opportunities to better understand neurological conditions, adaptive training strategies, and the rehabilitation process.
Key Responsibilities:
· Design and implement adaptive group fitness classes that address strength, endurance, cardiovascular fitness, and functional movement.
· Modify exercises and programming to meet the needs of individuals with varying neurological conditions and levels of ability.
· Ensure a safe and engaging environment that promotes participation, consistency, and progression.
· Collaborate with rehabilitation staff to align fitness programming with individual patient goals and clinical plans of care.
· Set up and break down equipment required for group sessions.
· Maintain awareness of participant performance and provide appropriate cueing, feedback, and progression.
· Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating group environment.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Physiology, or a related field (required)
· Experience leading group fitness classes (highly preferred)
· Experience in outpatient rehabilitation or working with neurological conditions (preferred)
· NASM, CSCS, or similar certification (preferred)
· Strong understanding of exercise programming principles, including strength and conditioning and cardiovascular training
· Ability to adapt exercises for individuals with mobility, balance, and coordination impairments
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate participants
