What are the responsibilities and job description for the PRN Opportunity for RN in Interventional Radiology Lab position at Neurosurgical & Spine Institute?
Looking for an energetic Register Nurse to assist in Special Procedures Lab as volumes grow and/or when full-time staff are planning to be out. Responsibilities include:
- Prepare and review patient records, charts and other pertinent information including a current H&P as well as all operative and informed consents.
- Assess, instruct & prepare patients prior to procedure.
- Take and record vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for procedure.
- Consult and coordinate with health care team members to provide bedside care for patient before and following procedure.
- Initiate IVs required before or following procedure.
- Assess patients’ post-operative condition, monitoring vital signs and other measures tied to discharge criteria.
- Update charts, patient files, and medical records in a timely and accurate manner.
- Monitor patients for condition changes, facilitating timely specialized interventions.
- Provide individualized care for patients in accordance with surgical procedure undertaken, age level, and health status.
- Create and maintains positive, personal, and warm atmosphere around the patient and their family.
- Educate patients and their families on post-procedural care, as well as answering questions in a timely and complete manner.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Maintain supplies and medications under the direction of the program manager.
Required Education/Experience:
- Valid GA RN license
- Current BLS and ACLS, required
- Current PALS, preferred
- 2 Years RN experience
- NICU, PACU, and/or Angiography experience preferred
