Job Description
We are searching for a full-time Patient Account Representative / Medical Biller for
our busy private surgery practice located in Murray. The practice is open Monday - Friday during
regular business hours, no nights or weekend required. The hours could be flexible depending on
experience.
- Include:
- Verifying patient eligibility and coverage
benefits. - Obtain pre-authorization for radiology,
surgical services or miscellaneous items as needed. - Insurance billing and account follow-up using
financial aging reports. - Prepare refunds for patient receivables.
- Calculate patient responsibility, negotiate
collections for services rendered or scheduled. - Familiarization with insurance carrier
guidelines for services provided. - Answer billing inquires with patients,
providers and staff.
Qualifications
- Must be dependable, honest, compassionate
individual to work with our patients, providers and staff. - Requires 3 to 5 years of healthcare
collections or equivalent experience. - Knowledge of physician procedure and
diagnosis coding. - Excellent verbal and written communication
and customer service skills. - Demonstrate knowledge of health insurance
billing, collection processes / requirements, and procedure and diagnosis coding. - Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and
Outlook.
