Position Overview
We are looking for a motivated and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our expanding practice as an independent contractor.
You will work directly with clients in their homes throughout the Metro Detroit area, delivering high-impact, functional therapy. While the job is posted in Ann Arbor, MI for location visibility, clients are located across nearby cities. We do our best to cluster visits geographically to reduce driving time and improve scheduling efficiency.
What You’ll Do
Conduct in-home evaluations and develop personalized treatment plans
Deliver 1:1 occupational therapy focused on:
Cognitive and visual processing
Neuromuscular re-education
ADL/IADL performance
Community mobility and reintegration
Vocational rehabilitation (training provided)
Document care and collaborate with caregivers and other providers
Promote functional recovery, independence, and safety through client-centered interventions
Qualifications
Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) licensed in the State of Michigan
Experience with neurological conditions (TBI, stroke, SCI, Parkinson’s, etc.)
Strong documentation, communication, and time management skills
Able to work independently and travel to client homes within Metro Detroit
Preferred but not required: Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) & experience in vision therapy or post-trauma visual rehabilitation
Training & Support
New therapists receive structured onboarding, including:
1:1 administrative and documentation training with the owner
Access to clinical training resources
Shadowing during evaluations and treatments
Gradual transition to independent sessions based on comfort
Training in vocational therapy if needed for caseload
