Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our team! In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a wide range of administrative and clinical support tasks. Duties
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Schedule appointments accurately using medical scheduling software and coordinate with clinical staff.
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification processes.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures, including updating personal information and collecting co-pays.
- Review and organize medical records, documentation, and ensure compliance with HIPAA confidentiality policies.
- Support clinical staff by preparing patient charts, reviewing documentation for accuracy, and managing electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Athenahealth.
- Maintain office supplies, file documents systematically, and ensure the front desk area remains organized.
- Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers to ensure care plans are understood and followed.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical administrative support role within a clinical or hospital setting.
- Familiarity with EHR systems is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of health insurance procedures including verification, claims processing, Medicare guidelines, and health information management.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and medical billing practices.
- Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams in clinics.
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel.
- Bilingual abilities in Spanish are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to uphold clinical confidentiality policies while managing sensitive patient information.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly phone etiquette approach.
- Prior office management experience in busy healthcare environments is desirable.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
