Position Description: Medical Office Assistant
The position of Medical Office Assistant working at Neurology and Spine Center will be filled by an individual interested in a cross-trained position in a busy neurology office that treats an adult patient population. The core role of the Medical Office Assistant is to provide, promote and ensure a safe, clean and therapeutic environment for the patients and gather pertinent medical information to be used in the direct care of the patient. The Medical Office Assistant will maintain a timely workflow and schedule throughout the course of the day and will have flex activities that will include supply management and administrative front desk work. The Medical Office Assistant is a supportive role for the physician and is a key participant in the success of the overall office efficiency.
Duties include:
· plan and prepare in advance of the patient visit to ensure a safe, clean and therapeutic environment
· document information gathered during the course of the patient’s interactions
· manage and maintain patient records
· understand and maintain the EMR system for key functions
· coordinate supply management
· maintain full compliance with state, federal, safety and confidentiality guidelines
· safety in the workplace is a central responsibility.
Personal appearance and conduct should reflect not only the professionalism of the Medical Office Assistant but that of the office as well. Teamwork is a core value for this office.
Position Overview
Salary: $16-$18 an hour
Job Type: Full Time: Monday-Friday; Hours: 8:30-5:30
no nights/weekends/no call
Qualifications: High school minimum or equivalent; prior Medical Office experience preferred
