What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Neurological Surgery Associates?
Registered Medical Assistant
- Primarily responsible for coordinating care for neurosurgery patients
- Meet with patients following physician's exam to explain treatment plan
- Submit new prescriptions and refills electronically
- Schedule and obtain authorizations for diagnostic procedures, spinal injections and surgeries
- Field patient phone calls, address and resolve their issues
- Room patients
- Answer phone calls and make appointments
- Detailed documentation in EMR program
- Scan and upload chart documents
- Must be able to thrive in a fast paced environment
- Highly organized
- Work well under pressure
- At least one year performing above tasks in a medical practice required
- MA certification preferred
- We need an employee that can work in whatever area they are needed, whether it be the front desk or working with a physician.
