What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fractional Chief Legal Officer / Regulatory Co-Founder (Equity) position at NeuroHub?
We are NeuroHub, building the ultimate physical-digital hybrid ecosystem for neurodiversity care. We are starting with our MVP: the "TurboTax for California Regional Center funding"—an AI-powered financial execution layer that automates FMS invoicing and drafts Person-Centered Plans.
By using advanced AI, we are removing the bureaucratic friction to aggregate thousands of families into a captive two-sided marketplace, eventually transitioning this digital network into our own physical, tech-enabled clinical hubs.
The Role: We are seeking a Fractional Chief Legal Officer (CLO) to join our founding team. Because we are building software that automates government compliance workflows (IPPs, SRAs, and SDPs), our regulatory architecture is just as important as our software architecture. Your primary objective will be to help us design the legal guardrails of our platform, ensuring our AI "Compliance Auditor" strictly adheres to the Lanterman Act while fiercely protecting NeuroHub from Unauthorized Practice of Law (UPL) liability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design the legal disclaimers, Terms of Service, and "Hold Harmless" agreements embedded within the Neuro-Hub UI.
- Audit our AI-generated Person-Centered Plans and FMS invoices to ensure they meet California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) compliance standards.
- Partner with the founding team to structure our eventual transition from a SaaS platform into a Virtual MSO (Management Services Organization) handling clinical billing.
What We Are Looking For:
- You hold a JD and have extensive professional experience in special education advocacy, healthcare law, or disability rights.
- You deeply understand the Lanterman Act, the California Regional Center system, and the intricacies of the Self-Determination Program.
- You are a pragmatic, tech-forward legal thinker who wants to use software to scale advocacy, rather than relying solely on 1-on-1 litigation.
- You are comfortable operating in a zero-to-one, pre-money, pre-incorporation environment on a fractional basis for founder equity.
- Compensation: Fractional founder/advisory equity (to be formalized via a pre-incorporation Letter of Intent/MOU, transitioning to a formal equity agreement immediately upon incorporation).
