Neuro-Vision Therapy Center is an optometry and vision therapy practice focused on rehabilitation from concussion, traumatic brain injury, stroke, and other neurological conditions, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of developmental vision disorders.
Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and patient-focused Vision Therapist to join our team. The Vision Therapist is responsible for providing therapy services under the supervision of an optometrist. The therapist will primarily work with pediatric and adult individuals who have vision disorders, including binocular vision dysfunction, eye teaming difficulties, focusing disorders, eye movement disorders, and visual processing challenges. The role may also include working with adult patients who are recovering from concussion or stroke, with the goal of reducing visual symptoms, improving functional abilities, and supporting their return to work, driving, and other daily activities.
Previous vision therapy experience is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Conduct one-on-one vision therapy sessions for pediatric and adult patients under the supervision of the optometrist.
· Implement individualized treatment plans prescribed by the doctor.
· Teach and guide patients through visual, perceptual, eye movement, focusing, eye teaming, and visual processing activities.
· Complete accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record system after each therapy session.
· Communicate patient progress, concerns, and observations to the supervising doctor.
· Reinforce prescribed home therapy activities and educate patients and families regarding treatment expectations.
· Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
Qualifications:
Required
· Availability during late afternoon.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Experience using Microsoft Office
· Strong computer and technology skills, including the ability to efficiently learn and utilize new software, electronic health record systems, and clinical equipment.
Preferred
· Experience in vision therapy, optometry, healthcare, education, rehabilitation, child development, or a related field.
· Experience using electronic health record systems.
Location: Rockville, Maryland
Position Type: Part-Time (2 days per week) Schedule: 2pm-6:00pm
Pay: $22.00 per hour
