At Neuro Vet, Dr. Johnson and Dr. Fitz are building something different. We’re seeking a third neurologist to join our team and help create the first neurology-exclusive hospital in the region with a neurologist on staff 24/7- providing unparalleled care for our patients.

Our innovative scheduling model includes two consecutive 24-hour on-site shifts per week, followed by five consecutive days off. While the idea of 24-hour shifts might seem intense, here's how we make it work:

• During the day, the hospital operates just like a typical specialty practice - you'll manage consults, rechecks, and perform surgeries, all supported by a dedicated neurology team.
• Overnight, a skilled nurse manages the majority of patient care, phone calls, and routine tasks. You'll be available to admit urgent cases, manage significant inpatient changes, and assist the overnight nurse as needed. You're not expected to perform surgeries overnight. You’ll have access to a comfortable, private sleep room so you can sleep during quieter overnight hours.

This model is designed to reduce burnout, improve patient care, and offer you the flexibility and time to truly enjoy all that Northern California has to offer.

As a veterinarian owned hospital, we are deeply rooted in the community we serve. That’s why we’re open 24/7 with a neurologist on staff at all times, to be there when pets need us most and to offer timely, reliable support to our referring veterinary partners.

Our brand new, state-of-the-art facility is equipped with a 1.5T Siemens Avanto Fit MRI, two fully equipped surgical suites, customized Casco cages, an IntensoVet oxygen cage, ultrasound, and in-house IDEXX blood analyzers. We also partner with Virtual Scan, enabling on-demand MRI capabilities, whenever it is needed. Looking ahead, we have dedicated space for future expansion, including plans to add CT and 3D printing capabilities.

Schedule:

The proposed schedule consists of one 48-hour shift per week, during which you would remain on-site. Ideally, we would ask you to cover every third Sunday, rotating with our other two neurologists.

Tentative Weekly Schedule (open to adjustment):

• Neurologist 1: Monday 7:00 AM – Wednesday 7:00 AM
• Neurologist 2: Wednesday 7:00 AM – Friday 7:00 AM
• Neurologist 3: Friday 7:00 AM – Sunday 7:00 AM
• Sunday 7:00 AM – Monday 7:00 AM: Rotates among the three neurologists 

Compensation (whichever is preferred):

• Option 1: $400,000 annually (guaranteed)
• Option 2: $300,000 base salary 25% production bonus

Ideal Candidates:

• Board-certified or residency-trained veterinary neurologist
• California veterinary license (or ability to obtain)
• Strong client communication skills and a positive, collaborative attitude
• Commitment to delivering an outstanding client and patient experience
• Dependable, flexible and team-oriented
