At a Glance

  • You’re a motivated rising senior student with a 3.0 GPA or higher seeking a degree in one of the following areas listed below from an accredited college or university:
    • Computer Science
  • This is a full-time, 10-week program designed to give you real-world experience working within the telecommunications industry in your field of choice.
  • Internship program runs from May 27 through July 31, 2026.
  • In addition to the role-based projects you’ll work on, you’ll also participate in professional development sessions, networking opportunities, and have access to a mentor.

The Spectrum Internship Experience
You’ll join one of our departments for the summer, where you’ll contribute to meaningful projects that give you insight into what it’s like to work at a leading connectivity company. You’ll have access to:

What you can expect in this role 

 

As a Spectrum intern, you’ll spend the summer working alongside two teams — your respective department and your intern peer group. Department and team-focused projects account for about 80% of your schedule. You’ll spend the other 20% on professional development sessions and networking activities, including the Kickoff Conference on May 27th, webinars, community service, cross-functional projects, and final presentations.

 

Internship responsibilities may include

  • Manual Tester that has strong REST API and backend test experience

  • Our team develops a set of backend microservices working to handle passive processes and manual operations on Spectrum’s Advanced In-Home Wifi router

  • We are seeking to grow our manual test team as we continue to develop more features


Required qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited College or University graduating with a bachelor’s degree between December 2026 - May 2027
  • Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program
  • Ability to travel locally to Spectrum intern development events and activities throughout the program
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship
  • Strong understanding of REST concepts and API testing
  • Backend microservice testing experience
  • End-to-end testing experience
  • Defect troubleshooting, debugging experience
  • Strong test documentation skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred qualifications

  • Postman, Curl, Swagger
  • Kafka or message-driven testing (RabbitMQ, Spark, etc)
  • Commandline-oriented testing, Unix, Mac
  • Kubernetes understanding and exposure
  • NoSQL database testing (ElasticsearchDB, MongoDB, etc)
  • Testrail test documentation software
  • JIRA/Agile methodology

Nice to have

  • Java & Spring Boot skills
  • Experience developing automated tests using Junit/TestNG
  • AWS exposure
  • Docker understanding and exposure

The base pay for this position generally is between $27.50 and $28.50. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
